Yes, finally its about time I get back to posting on this site. My work ethic has been a little haphazard, probably due to with a series of depressive episodes exhausting my emotions before I can even put a pen to paper.
But now that I'm finally cured, I can now get back to doing what I do best, well what I do best is music but I also blog obviously.
You know, this is my first time I think that I have wrote a movie review, especially for this site. I thank you so much for letting me express myself and not outright banning me for "bigotry" like those corrupt admins back at TV tropes do and good news that their being replaced, you shouldn't have people with mental disorders in any position of responsibility and power, that in itself is madness, hell the reason I'm on a temporary vacation from my student government is because its filled with and run by a bunch of lunatics (seriously crazy people, go to the hospital and get treated).
Oh... sorry, have to get back on topic now.
The movie begins slightly were it left off, umm... do you spell it with a K or a C, screw it ill just call her Catnip because... well it actually makes a bit of sense when you think about, she sure likes playing with cats, oh and that's what comes to my mind every time they say her name.
PETA....bread.... because he said he worked at a bakery... subtle naming at its finest.. for both characters.
So, it seems that Catnips simple act of shooting out the force field sent shockwaves of inspiration and discontent in the masses, triggering a full scale civil war between the mocking jay rebels and loyalist soldiers who are most likely either mindless androids or just drugged up with heroin so they don't feel anything.
this revolution was inevitable and all of us agree on that.
it's just how the revolution is being run that's pushing a few "suspicion buttons" of mine.
so that president lady of the rebels, doh I cant remember her name, justly claims that "president" snow rules through fear, propaganda and deception.
but...hmm... do tell me, how exactly does "the mocking jay" achieve its goals of achieving freedom and liberation.
oh that's right, I almost forgot, by using FEAR,PROPOGANDA,AND DECEPTION. oh how could I ever forget.
so before you jump on the rebel bandwagon and say "I burn, you burn with me", just sit down and think for a second that maybe the president rebel leader lady has a few... ulterior motives.
for one, she spins the so called "free rebel TV" broadcast" by omitting information and manipulating the results to conform to the "free" agenda.
you can totally tell by the end that, maybe and just maybe, the rebel president is not the perfect, infallible, messiah (well next to Catnip herself) everyone's been looking for this entire series.
for all we know, she could just be out for an opportunistic power grab and delivers flat promises and rhetoric through propaganda and appeals to emotion to rile up the destitute and desperate masses. does this remind you of anyone?
c'mon people, don't be shy.
Catnip herself, even though you might think so, isn't that much of a selfless martyr either. As a matter of fact, she comes off as downright selfish.
all of district 12-13 gone, everyone you loved and knew reduced to ashes, and the tyrannical president of Panam laughing at you every step of the way.
you would think by the end of catching fire she would be all out for revenge and nothing but revenge and to see president snow die a slow and painful death. but nope, apparently, she thinks peta is still, after all this time, worth saving and is willing to compromise THE ENITRE REVELOUTION TO DO SO!!!
Presedent snow, being as genre savvy as he is, knew a rescue attempt was going to be made and planned ahead accordingly.
all I can say at this is she is in love with a distant memory and has rescued the shell that once housed that memory, and she almost got killed because of it.
she's also impulsive, apparently she never could predict the trajectory of those two fighter/bombers after she shot them out of the sky, yep.. right smack dab into the hospital. give me a sec while I sarcastically clap.
good job Catnip, your accidently killing the innocent people your trying to protect.
The lesson Here: Don't let personal desires get in the way of the greater good, pursuing your own self interest, no matter how well meaning, at the expense of others only leads to disaster.
Yes, spoilers. what did you expect me to put in all caps SPOILERS in the title. cmon, you guys are smart, I'm sure you could have expected some spoilage.
any good moments in the movie: a few, especially the part where the proletariat zerg rushed the dam, now that made my heart skip a beat, the singing of " a necklace of hope" just crowns that moment as the most moving scene ever put into cinema. that scene you have to see for yourself, trust me.. you'll be inspired to stand up to actual tyranny when this movie is through with you.
I think that these Games are SO overrated, therefore I never read or watched them. Also, Catnip's actress makes her come off as a Mary Sue.
