Top 10 best third generation Pokemon

Who were the finest new Pokemon in Ruby/Sapphire and Emerald?

Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire were released ten years ago this year and to celebrate its tenth anniversary we asked you to name your best third generation Pokemon. With memorable Pokemon like Blaziken, Absol and Mudkip, the third generation was a great era for Pokemon.

Indeed, some of these classic Pokemon will be appearing in Pokemon X and Y and some, like Blaziken and Absol are being updated thanks to Mega Eolution. But who is your favourite Pokemon from Ruby, Sapphire and Emeralds? Do you really like Mudkips? Read on...

10. Treecko

This Grass Starter is number one in the Hoenn Pokedex but only just scrapes into this top ten. However, it did better than the other third generation Starters - Mudkip and Torchic - who are nowhere to be seen. Treecko evolves into Grovyle and then finishes up as Sceptile. Its dark green tail enables this Pokemon to predict the next day's weather

You say: Treecko! Because I had such awesome memories with it. This was my very first GBA game and I used to play it every day, without fail, with my trusty sidekick Treecko (who eventually turned into a Sceptile). About a year later, my sister bought me a Treecko plush doll from France. Because of this, people called me the 'Treecko girl' and then that became my nickname up to this very day. Annabel Osborn

Can't argue against Absols being amazing...
But IMO (and my opinion only), nothing tops my Swellow (Cheep) and Altaria (Fluffy) who have followed me ever since Sapphire all the way to Black 2 where they are now, and soon to follow me in X. Ah, 3rd gen memories :3

I'm disappointed in the lack of a Ludicolo in this list. Ludicolo is a LudicoBro.

    Got in there on Rayquaza.
    Woo! :D
Gen 3 is easily one of my favorite Generations.
I also wanted to add a reference to Luigi at the end but couldn't think of a way other than like a certain plumber which wasn't very creative and I like being creative (Even if I'm not too good at it sometimes).

I like that picture of Treeco. Its as if hes saying 'want some of this b***h'. Treeco has been my favourite grass starter but my favourite gen 3 pokemon are Kyogre with all its raw power combined with drizzle and Latias/Latios cause they are strong and look cool.

I hope we get a Ruby and Sapphire Remake for the 3DS

Look at Treecko's nose! I mean seriously. That's one huge nose for such a tiny reptile. Nosepass was introduced in the same generation, but it was meant to have a large nose. Treecko's... What a nose!

Anyway, as my avatar suggests, I'm not at all unhappy about the first place. I am unhappy about the lack of dancing pineapples in this top ten.

i meant non-legendary. and i must say, gen 3 was my second favourite, and it's roster holds 2 places on my top 5 pokemon list. i hope gen 6 can top it.

Pretty obvious choices, but considering that there will probably be a good chunk of non-pokémon fans I think it's fine.

Where is Aggron and Ludicolo though?
