About the Peace Colloquy

The Peace Colloquy is an annual event at the Community of Christ Temple in Independence, Missouri.  It has been held since 1993 as an expression of what the Temple is dedicated to: “the pursuit of peace, reconciliation, and healing of the spirit” (Doctrine and Covenants 156).

Each year the Colloquy focuses on a specific topic, such as nuclear questions, environmentalism, restorative justice, world religions, economics, poverty, race and ethnicity, children, women, or families.

The event emphasizes

• Programming for all ages that encourages engagement in justice and peacemaking
• Reaching out to and working with ecumenical and interfaith communities
• The annual Community of Christ International Peace Award ceremony

The Peace Colloquy is an opportunity to be inspired in your discipleship, build relationships, and engage in leadership education.  All are invited to join in pursuing peace on Earth at this annual event.
