Honorary Citizenship Awarded to Three Commanders of Mt. Paektu
Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- The Pampas District Office of Tayacaja City, Huancavelica Province, Peru decided to award honorary citizenship to President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il and anti-Japanese heroine Kim Jong Suk.

A ceremony was held in the above-said district on Mar.18 to convey the decision on awarding honorary citizenship to the three commanders of Mt. Paektu.

The decision said: Prompted by the political will to strengthen the friendly relations with all the people of the world, the countries which boast time-honored history in particular, we pay tribute to the outstanding commanders of the Korean people and have the pleasure to register them as honorary citizens as they firmly protected the sovereignty of the DPRK and paid deep attention to the cultural exchange with Pampas District, Tayacaja City, Huancavelica Province.

The decision was conveyed to an official of the DPRK embassy at the ceremony.

The mayor of the city who doubles as the governor of the district, conveying the decision, said that it is the immense honor and exceptionally high pride for the inhabitants of Pampas District to hold in esteem Kim Il Sung, eternal President of the DPRK, and Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Suk as honorary citizens of their city, adding that he would make positive efforts to boost the friendly relations between the peoples of the two countries.
