Terms & Conditions

Membership

Membership cards and any associated benefits are non-transferable and can only be used by the named Member.

Memberships (new and renewing) may take up to 10 days from receipt to process and membership materials will be posted out to you by second class post. Once processed and posted, we will assume that you have received these membership materials.  Please contact the RSL office if you have not received them within 14 days of your application. We will not be able to grant a refund or extension of membership due to lost materials.

Current Members of the RSL can buy a gift membership for a friend or relative at the discounted rate of £40. Please contact Joe Bibby for further details.

Gift membership at £40 for the first year would then be renewed at £50 for all future years. The Society of Authors member offer of 15 months membership for the price of 12 for the first year’s subscription would then be renewed at £50 for all future years.

We will contact you by post approximately 2 months before your membership is due for renewal, detailing the expiry date of your current membership and any further actions you may need to take in order to continue your subscription. We will send you a 2nd reminder letter 1 month before your membership is due for renewal. If your membership subscriptions are paid by Direct Debit, we will automatically renew your membership after 12 months and collect the monies for the coming subscription period unless you notify us that you do not wish to renew your membership by the date stated in your renewal letter. It is the Member’s responsibility to cancel any Direct Debit payments as required. The RSL cannot offer refunds for membership renewal payments made in error.

If we do not hear from you before renewal date, we will assume that you no longer want to be a Member of the RSL.

The RSL cannot offer refunds on any annual membership fees (new and renewing).

Unfortunately the RSL cannot offer refunds for tickets to any events or Masterclasses. If you have any questions about your ticket purchase, please contact the Events Manager, Swithun Cooper.
