Selangor FA

The Selangor FA, also known as Football Association of Selangor (FAS), is a Malaysian football association based in the state of Selangor. FAS was founded in 22 February 1936 but has actually had a football team since 1921, which participated in the Malaya Cup. FAS was also one of the founding members of the Malayan Football Association (the predecessor of the modern Football Association of Malaysia). The Red Giants are currently playing in the Malaysia Super League, the top division of Malaysian football league and the 80,000-capacity Stadium Shah Alam has been their home ground since its completion in 1994. Early this season, the stadium has completed its renovation since 2013 and they won 1-0 in their first game after the renovation against Kelantan FA on 22 March 2014. Selangor FA have won a record 32 Malaysia Cups, 6 first division titles, 5 FA Cups, 8 Charity Cups, 13 King's Gold Cups and 1 Agong's Cups. The Red-Yellows have completed treble in 1997, 2005 and 2009. Both 1997 and 2005 trebles covered the Domestic Cup Double (Malaysia Cup and FA Cup) while the 2009 treble covered the Double (Super League and FA Cup). 1997 was the most successful year for them as they won 4 trophies (Malaysia Cup, FA Cup, Charity Cup and King's Gold Cup) and runners-up for Agong's Cup.
