Journal of Stevenson Studies

"When a popular writer dies, the question it has become the fashion with a nervous generation to ask is the question, 'Will he live?'"

(Walter Raleigh, Robert Louis Stevenson, 2nd edn [London: Edward Arnold, 1896], p. 7)

The Journal of Stevenson Studies (JSS) is committed to the study and wider consideration of the work of Robert Louis Stevenson as a popular writer with an original and unique insight into the moral, psychological and cultural ambiguities of the modern world. This is the Stevenson admired by authors like Henry James, Graham Greene and Jorge Luis Borges.

The Editorial Board for The Journal of Stevenson Studies is drawn up of Stevenson scholars from around the world.
