During the programme you will get to drive a Lotus Elise, BMW compact 2.5l, Radical SR3, Lola F3 and finally the 1997 Benetton F1.

There are three different programmes: 

The Cars: 1997 Benetton Formula One

We have two 1997 Benetton Formula One cars formally driven by Gerhard Berger and Jean Alessi. Gerhard Berger scored Benetton’s first ever GP won in 1986 and he also scored Benetton’s last ever GP won in the 1997 car which we have. The 1997 model was a very competitive car, between the 2 drivers they finished 1 x first, 6 x second, set the fastest lap during a race twice and had 2 pole positions ultimately finishing 3rd in the constructors championship.

• Engine: Judd V10 GV4, 4 litre, 750 bhp 700ft/lb torque
• Chassis: Carbon fibre composite monocoque manufactured by Benetton Formula. Judd GV4  V10 engine installed as a fully stressed member attached to the rearmost monoco que bulkhead.
• Front Suspension: Double wishbone and pushrod with Benetton designed and manufactured suspension system located on top of the monocoque.
• Rear Suspension: Double wihbone and pushrod with upper mounted Benetton designed and manufactured damper units.
• Brakes: Carbon fibre discs and pads all round.
• Transmission: Benetton semi-auto six-speed paddle shift gearbox. Triple-plate clutch.
• Fuel System: ATL rubber fuel cell mounted within monocoque structure behind cockpit.
• Oil System: Oil tank within bellhousing providing two gallon/nine litres capacity.
• Cooling System: Separate water and oil cooling; water radiators in each side pod.
