The thirteenth series of Celebrity Big Brother had a successful launch on Channel 5 last night, and finished second in its timeslot ahead of ITV and Channel 4.

Last night’s Celebrity Big Brother launch was over 700,000 viewers up on Monday’s public series final, and was slightly up on last summer’s opener too.

The first part of yesterday’s finale averaged 2.1 million viewers, matching the series launch and comfortably beating last year’s final.

Although down on the previous two evenings, Big Brother’s good week of ratings continued on Wednesday night, hitting the 1.6 million mark.
For the second consecutive night, Big Brother set a new ratings best for a highlights show on Channel 5, with viewers drawn in by the controversy surrounding Daley’s ejection.
Monday night’s Big Brother became the most-watched highlights programme for the show during its three years on Channel 5, as viewers tuned in to see Daley ejected from the house.
Wofly Millington’s exit from the Big Brother house last night was seen by 1.53 million viewers.
