Pulaski County Sheriff Todd Wood made a series of promotions this week — all of which carried substantial pay raises.Wood called the moves “business as usual” and said he was setting up the sheriff’s office command staff for Sheriff-elect Greg Speck.

Local man sentenced in heroin death case
A Pulaski County man was sentenced this week to 20 years in prison for distributing heroin that resulted in a man’s death.Anthony LaCortiglia, 30, was sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court in London.

To clinch the Lake Cumberland Cal Ripken major league championship title, the Kentucky Farm Care Pirates needed to win just one game against the Southeastern Appraisal Yankees.
