The schoolgirl kidnapping is only one criminal event among a long series of violent attacks. While we need to do our best to bring the schoolgirls back, we also need to make sure that the underlying issues are addressed.

We need to properly analyse the systemic issues, explain and list them here. Then we need to put pressure on key people to make sure those issues are addressed.

The Nigerian civil war was very violent and political power is uneasily shared between largely Christian/traditional south Nigeria (in charge for longtime) and the largely Muslim north (more neglected and poor).
