Sky News for Smartphones

Get the updated Sky News iPhone and Android apps.

The new versions of the Sky News iPhone app and Android app have arrived.

These apps, which can be downloaded free at either Appleā€™s UK & Ireland iTunes store, or the Google Play store, already bring you the very best of Sky News' breaking news in words, pictures and video.

The new updates bring you content created exclusively for the iPhone and Android phones, with more depth on the key stories.

You can now browse picture galleries, swipe through timelines and see live blogs on the main stories, while there are graphs for the key facts and touchable images for even more detail. You can even tilt your screen to see these modules in portrait or landscape mode.

Technology news is included for the first time and is available alongside the existing Top Stories, UK News, World News, Business, Politics, Entertainment, Sport and Strange News sections.

We have also made changes to the navigation, so you can swipe between stories or sections, making navigation even easier.

You can stream Sky News live and for free (iPhone only) or stay up to date with our three-minute headline bulletin and weather and showbiz summaries.

You can also send Sky News your own news reports and pictures directly from the app, and see which other Sky apps are available via the App store. On the Android app, you can also see details of your Sky account.
