Westinghouse Women in Nuclear

Westinghouse Women in Nuclear, or W-WIN, is an association of Westinghouse Electric Company employees, focusing on women who are working to:

  • promote an environment that supports leadership development of women in Westinghouse;

  • establish a framework within Westinghouse and nuclear utilities through which women can further their professional development, to include but not limited to networking with customers in the industry and mentoring women; and

  • promote public awareness about facts on nuclear energy and the nuclear industry and promote career interest in engineering and nuclear technologies.

Through its Women In Nuclear (WIN) chapter, Westinghouse Electric Company offers a $2,500 scholarship to a female high school senior graduating in the spring from a Pittsburgh area school. The candidate must intend to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, or physical sciences at an accredited college or university.

We would like to thank this year’s applicants and notify everyone that the 2014 Scholarship Application is no longer available as of Friday, April 11, 2014. Our judges are busy selecting this year’s recipient; once a winner is chosen in the next few weeks, she will be notified and invited to receive her award at a breakfast ceremony at Westinghouse Headquarters in May 2014. The winner will also be announced on this webpage in May.

Please visit this website again in February 2015 for information regarding next year’s scholarship.
