WNT vs. Japan: Reaction - March 5, 2014

On a windy day in Parchal Portugal, the U.S. WNT opened its 2014 Algarve Cup with a 1-1 draw against Japan. A second half goal from Sydney Leroux was matched by an 83rd minute free kick from Japan captain Aya Miyama. After the match, we spoke with head coach Tom Sermanni, Leroux, forward Christen Press and midfielder Heather O’Reilly.
