The British composer Michael Nyman is visiting the Norwegian Film Festival in accordance with the 20 year anniversary of the Oscar nominated movie Piano. On Saturday 17 August his film NYman with a Movie Camera will be screened, followed by a discussion between himself and British film critic Derek Malcom. Piano will be screened on Sunday and later on the same day, Nyman will be holding a solo concert at the Festivity featuring music from this film.

It's a great pleasure to open Cinemagi with a legend within Norwegian children's culture- the great Alfie Atkins, says Tonje Hardersen, programme coordinator for Cinemagi. -Hocus Pocus Alfie Atkins is a cultured animation which I am sure will entertain both newer and older generations of Alfie Atkins fans. Torill Kove, who won an Oscar in 2007 for Best Animated Short Film, will be coming to Haugesund Saturday 17 August with her newest film Hocus Pocus Alfie Atkins.
The Amanda Committee and Jury President Bente Erichsen announced during a press conference 12 June the 2013 nominations for Amanda, the Norwegian film award. Also at the event four awards were presented by the TV2 hostess Solveig Kloppen.
Programme manager Håkon Skogrand thinks there will be laughter and tears of joy when the movie The Optimists concludes this years festival, on Tuesday 20 August: Not since Heftig og Begeistret have I seen a documentary with such a potential to succeed with the masses, he says.
