News Tiger & Bunny Anime Sells 233,000 Total Blu-ray Discs

The ninth and final Blu-ray volume of Sunrise's Tiger & Bunny television anime series that was released on January 27 sold 21,757 copies in its first week to rank at No. 1 on Oricon's weekly animation Blu-ray Disc rankings, bringing the total Blu-ray discs sold of the series to 233,000 copies.
The original television anime series aired from April to September last year, and the franchise will receive two film adaptations starting this year. Sunrise producer Masayuki Ozaki revealed yesterday that the franchise would get a stage play adaptation titled "Tiger & Bunny the Live." Ozaki had said last month that he was considering live-action and musical adaptations of the series.
