Buying Advice: Sandisk Extreme SSD 120GB/240GB review: too little too late?
With these Extreme SSDs, SanDisk has proven it can make quality SSDs with reasonable performance. Unlike the SanDisk U100 SSDs from its OEM division that perform more like USB sticks in 2.5-inch format, the Extreme SSDs do perform well. And when an important party like SanDisk enters the consumer SSD market, that's only good news for both competition and innovation.

Buying Advice: Synology DS-413 review: versatile 4-bay NAS
Synology NAS devices are very popular, and with good reason. They generally perform really well, and have lots of features, but their main drawback is always their price. In this review we will take a closer look at the DS413, a NAS which is similar to the DS213+, except that it can fit four disks instead of two.

Buying Advice: Promise Pegasus J2: superfast external mini-storage
The Promise Pegasus J2 can carry only 256 GB of data, but it is extremely fast, especially for an external hard disk. It is likely that the 512 GB version, which has two 256 GB disks, will perform even better. If you own a Thunderbolt-compatible computer and need fast external storage, then this Promise product is a great solution. And unlike its main competitor the LaCie Little Big Disk Thunderbolt, you can use it without plugging it into the wall, even if that does impact the performance.

Buying Advice: Samsung SSD 840 / 840 Pro review: every model tested
We were very impressed by the 256 GB Samsung 840 Pro when it came out late September. It was the fastest at the time, but OCZ has caught up already with the Vector SSD. The other capacities of the 840 Pro are equally outstanding in terms of performance, all at the top of their class.

Buying Advice: OCZ Vector 256GB SSD review: with Indilinx Barefoot 3
This week OCZ launched a new SSD series under the name Vector. OCZ is aiming at the high-end segment with these, more or less as a follow-up to the existing Vertex 4 series. The interesting part about the new SSD is the controller, because the Indilinx Barefoot 3 has been developed in-house by OCZ.

Buying Advice: Intel SSD 335 240GB review: 20nm entry-level SSD
If Intel manages to make the SSD 335 significantly more affordable than the Samsung 830 256GB and the Crucial m4 256GB, then it becomes a potentially interesting entry-level SSD option. With current prices the 335 is a dime-a-dozen SSD, nothing more.

Buying Advice: Review of Adata HV610, HD710 and HE720 external hard drives: Something for everyone
A 2.5-inch external hard disk can provide that extra storage you need when you're on-the-go. Adata is one of the players in this market, so we tested three of their USB 3.0 DashDrive models with 500 GB of storage, the HV610, HD710 and HE720. Hardware.Info tested them to find out how they perform and what sets them apart.

Buying Advice: Shuttle OmniNAS KD20 review: first time's the charm?
For a first entry, the Shuttle OmniNAS KD20 certainly doesn't disappoint. It has a solid chassis, a USB 3.0 port on the front and quality trays for the hard disks. The firmware has all the features you expect on a NAS, and the lay-out is well-organised. Shuttle also has practical apps for remote access to your folders.

Buying Advice: Corsair Neutron SSDs review: first SSDs with LAMD controller
It's impressive that LAMD is able to join the high-end segment right-away with its first controller in the Corsair Neutron 240GB and the Neutron GTX 240GB SSDs. Looking at the benchmarks, it's clear that their new controller is faster than SandForce, and faster than the previous-generation Marvell. The outstanding performance of the Neutron SSD can be seen in a number of areas. The sequential write speed of the Neutron GTX is very high, for example.

Buying Advice: Samsung SSD 840 Pro 256GB review: the fastest SSD currently around
The Samsung SSD 840 Pro is by far the fastest SSD currently around- faster than the OCZ Vertex 4, faster than the Corsair Neutron GTX and faster than the Plextor M5 Pro. Samsung also has a proven track record in terms of reliability and quality, as the Samsung 830 series had very few known issues. History is of course not a guarantee for future success, but there is no reason to think that the new 840 Pro series will be any less dependable.
