CBU/CAR 19th Annual International Conference/GAS 2014, in association with CCPIT Auto Council and China Passenger Car Association

Dear Automotive Executives

China sold 3.25 million automobiles in 2002. A decade later in 2011 sales reached 18.5 million units, up nearly six times. With a compound annual average growth of 21 percent, the period from 2002-2011 was dubbed by the industry as the “Golden Decade.” There is no question that China for the foreseeable future will remain as the world’s largest new automobile market. Total sales in 2013 exceeded 21 million units, a historical record.

But volume has not translated to global competitiveness for China’s auto industry. As foreign automakers battle to expand their market shares and home-grown brands fight to “defend their turf,” opportunities and challenges lie ahead for China on the journey to becoming a competitive player in the global automobile market.

CBU/CAR is excited to present our 19th annual international conference and 2014 Global Automotive Symposium© (GAS 2014). The theme of GAS 2014 will be: China’s Auto Industry after the Golden Decade: in Quest for Global Competitiveness. It will be held right before Auto China 2014 organized by the Automotive Council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). A gala welcome dinner will be hosted on the first day of the event on Thursday April 17 for speakers, attendees, sponsors and exhibitors. A networking cocktail will be held on the evening of Friday the 18th, the second day of the conference. A golf tournament will be organized at the Beijing Country Golf Club on the morning of Saturday the 19th. A VIP visit to Auto China 2014 will be organized on Sunday the 20th.

CBU/CAR plans to invite about 30 speakers from the government, associations, OEMs and suppliers, service providers, etc. for the two-day event. Panel discussions will include: Regulatory/Policy Environment; Market Potential; Consolidation and M&As; Technology and Innovation; Sales and Distribution; Supply Chain Integration; Used Vehicle and the Aftermarket; the Internet and Consumer Expectations; etc.

CBU/CAR’s annual international conferences have evolved since 1996 into a unique annual gathering of senior Chinese and multinational executives. They are value-added professional events with in-depth discussions on the expanding China market and a high-level and rewarding networking opportunity for local and multinational auto executives.

CBU/CAR has been covering China's auto market for 20 years since 1995 with weekly, bi-weekly and monthly e-newsletters and a monthly magazine, China Automotive Review. CBU/CAR publications have been recognized by industry professionals as the source that "tells about the wheels behind the wheels" of the expanding China market.

Our annual event is unique in featuring a mix of Chinese and foreign speakers who give insightful presentations and interact candidly with the audience. Past events for close to 20 years have proven to be a successful venue in helping sponsors promote their products and services to a broad spectrum of Chinese and global attendees.

I look forward to your involvement and participation at the CBU/CAR 's 19th annual international conference in Beijing.
