DJ Cassidy Salutes Classic Dance Music - Premiere
Robin Thicke, Jessie J, Nile Rodgers help out on 'Calling All Hearts'

DJ Cassidy has assembled a stellar lineup of classic-era dance musicians and modern-day singers for his new single, "Calling All Hearts." With the video premiere of "DJ Cassidy: The Making of 'Calling All Hearts' Featuring Robin Thicke and Jessie J," the DJ and performer chronicles how the all-star song – which will be featured on his debut album, expected in May 2014, paying tribute to the golden era of club music – took shape.

The 25 DJs That Rule the Earth

"Four years ago, I set out on a mission to bring the greatest and most universal dance music of all time back to the airwaves, back to nightlife, back to the dance floor," Cassidy tells Rolling Stone. Working with production partner Greg Cohen, he recruited Chic's Nile Rodgers, Rufus drummer John "JR" Robinson, Michael Jackson's horn and string arranger Jerry Hey and multiple members of Earth, Wind & Fire to perfect "Calling All Hearts," a song co-written by hitmaker Claude Kelly.

The exuberant song first made its debut this summer when DJ Cassidy premiered "Calling All Hearts" while opening for Jay Z and Justin Timberlake on their Legends of the Summer stadium tour. The track also surfaced when he served as the house-band for the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.

Like the rest of DJ Cassidy's forthcoming album, "Calling All Hearts" honors the musical era between 1978 and 1982 by purposely avoiding modern studio techniques like sampling and recycling established material.

Look for DJ Cassidy and his band to hit the road supporting Thicke and Jessie J on their nationwide tour this February.
