ENTSO-E On-Line Application Portal for System Study Model (STUM)

ENTSO-E has created an on-line application portal for third parties to apply for access to a transmission system study model.

This Study Model represents the power system of the ENTSO-E Regional Group Continental Europe synchronous area in 2020. The available models will assist research and innovation projects in the energy sector in Europe by providing a realistic representation of the European power system; allowing users to validate innovative methods and tools for power system analyses.

Any party who wishes to access study models provided by ENTSO-E will be required to sign a Confidentiality Undertaking after which access can be provided. To request access please complete the STUM Request Form.

STUM Technical Description

The model accessible via the Study Models tool is available in the ENTSO-E’s Common Information Model (CIM) data exchange standard (Profile 1, 2009) and can be imported in power system analyses tools.

Future Development

Work has commenced to complete the study model for other synchronous areas in Europe as well as to develop a pan-European power system study model representing a system development scenario valid for 2030.
