Site Accessibility

ABC7 is currently in the process of evaluating its web content to determine how well it conforms to the web accessibility standards and guidelines set forth by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), an international community that develops web standards. The W3C's Web Accessibility Initiative "develops guidelines which are widely regarded as the international standard for Web accessibility."

What is web accessibility? "Web accessibility means that people with disabilities can use the Web. More specifically, Web accessibility means that people with disabilities can perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with the Web, and that they can contribute to the Web. Web accessibility also benefits others, including older people with changing abilities due to aging." (W3C WAI)

Upon completion of this evaluation, ABC7 will begin development updates to better align its web content with the W3C’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
