Wythenshawe

Created by council planners in the 1920s to house overspill population in a healthy environment, Wythenshawe is one of the greenest areas of the city with 12 parks and large areas of woodland. It is also home to Wythenshawe Hospital and Manchester's International Airport. Once home to the largest council estate in Europe Wythenshawe is now at the centre of massive regeneration. Tramlines are being built and the area is a key part of the airport enterprise zone.
