Despicable Me 2

Despicable Me 2

It may not have as many clever jokes as it's predecessor, but it has enough to satisfy and the Minion's are more enjoyable than ever. This is a more sentimental film than the first, dealing with love and family, which was a nice take, and good lessons are definitely present for the younger audience. What makes these films so enjoyable is the acting, along with the voice talent. You may find yourself laughing harder than you think you should be, and that is because the childish humour in this animated film, it much more funny than it should be to an older audience. The story is good, the life lessons are true, and the animation is gorgeous once again. "Despicable Me 2," doesn't quite live up to the first, but it's a very enjoyable movie!

I have nothing to complain about here, however, it has been done in so many movies before, that it seems like a recap of all the great kids films mashed into one. I loved this film down to it's core, and it's extremely funny throughout. With great laughs throughout and a tender story arch that will put a smile on people's face of all ages. The Minion's are really what stand out as the funniest part of this film, due to their own language and mannerisms. Steve Carell really changes his voice for the role and does a bang up job. This is not (by all means) the greatest kids film of all time or anything, but as exactly that, it's one of the best animated films to come out in a long time. "Despicable Me" is not perfect, but I love it in almost every way. It's fantastic fun!

Kronk's New Groove

Kronk's New Groove

This sequel to the beloved original "Emperor's New Groove" is just as unsatisfying as you would fear it to be. Having nothing to do with the first, while borrowing many jokes from it just feels extremely lazy, and about halfway through may just want to shut it off. The film revolves around Kronk, who is one of the villains of the first, and here we learn to care about him. The story is just too weak and the jokes are slim to nil. It may be fine for children to watch, but the jokes are very lame, and will not make many adults laugh. The scriptwriter was handed a dumb idea and did the best he could with it, but the film just is not very good. "Kronk's New Groove" fails on many levels, but as a child's film, it's fine.

"Emperor's New Groove" is the type of family film that you do not have to be a child in order to love. The voice cast is fantastically cast, the animation is very creative and well done, and the story is a great little heartfelt and funny tale that anyone can enjoy. As the Emperor is just going about his jerky ways, making fun of people and firing his people for no reason, a plot against him to poison him ends up turning him into a Llama. It is a very fun disney movie for all ages and I definitely recommend this film to anyone a fan of animation, or comedy in general

Curse of Chucky

Curse of Chucky

Chucky is back for one last round, and boy is it ever a good one. "Curse of Chucky" follows an entirely new cast of people as Chucky begins to slowly pick off family members. At first it seems like a well produced average horror film, but deep down, it is holding onto your interest until the last 20 minutes where it will completely reverse what your thoughts have been and it will really surprise you. With a great cinematographer to go with it, some great direction, and better acting than most of the series has ever had, this sixth instalment, which is arguably the best in the series, has everything Chucky fans around the world could ever want. I had a blast with this film from start to finish, and I highly recommend it not only to Chucky fans, but fas of the horror genre in general. Many twists and turns make this film the only one in the series I use the word "Great!"
