Best Man Down strikes a blissful tonal mix that turns one man's death into another man's enlightening journey, as both Justin Long and Tyler Labine flex their dramatic acting muscles.
When your film's most compelling character dies in the first five minutes, your film has a problem.
The movie's tearjerking core starts to get buried beneath needless distractions.
An indie comedy that seems good enough but never left me feeling I had to see it.

Scott(Justin Long) is getting married to Kristin(Jess Weixler) in Arizona and Lumpy, the oldest friend Scott's, is his best man.Under unclear circumstances Lumpy was found dead a couple of hours after the wedding.Scott has to make all the funeral arrangements, plus to have Lumpy's body sent to Minnesota.
At the same time,in a small town near the Canadian border, lives a schoolgirl named Ramsey(Addison Timlin) with her mother Jaime(Frances O'Connor) and her nasty boyfriend Winston(Evan Jones), who constantly gives Ramsey a hard time. Some months ago Lumpy and Ramsey met accidently and became best friends. So, that sudden loss of Ramsey's only friend, is going to lead to immediate changes regarding her present life.
I absolutely loved the film. The scenario without being something extraordinary, can definetely keep someone seated for one and a half hour.Great performances, especially from Addison Timlin, who, as far as i'm concerned, is a charismatic young actress. This is a very good example, of a relatively low budget film with great value.
