Australia's Gold Coast Film Festival (GCFF) announced that Japanese voice actress Yuko Miyamura will appear at the event to introduce the anime film Evangelion: 2.0 You Can [Not] Advance (Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: Ha). Miyamura reprised her role as Asuka in this movie, which will be screened as part of the Australian festival's anime showcase.

Miyamura is also well-known for voicing Chun-Li in the Street Fighter game series and Kazuha Toyama in the Case Closed anime franchise. She appeared at a separate Australian event this past July, alongside English-language Asuka voice actress Tiffany Grant, to promote Evangelion 2.0.

GCFF's other anime-related guests include CoMix Wave Inc. CEO Noritaka Kawaguchi as well as Negadon/Planzet director Jun Awazu (pictured at left) and Ushio Tazawa (director of the upcoming Ichirin-sha). Among the titles to be screened are Planzet, 5cm per Second, Summer Wars, Redline, and King of Thorn. King of Thorn was also recently nominated for one of Australia's 2010 Asia Pacific Screen Awards.

The festival will run from November 10 to 16 in Southport, Queensland, Australia.
