QUESTION I have a SanDisk Cruzer Blade 4GB USB flash drive which I can no-longer put files on because of a "write-protected" error. How do I fix this?

HELPROOM ANSWER It's hard to say what's going on here without a lot more information, but taking a look in SanDisk's forum we found several people with a similar problem. (Read all portable hard drive reviews.)

Many solutions are offered which have worked for some users but, unfortunately, the only guaranteed way to deal with the issue seems to be to back up the contents of the drive and return it to SanDisk for a replacement. Seeing as these can be found on sale for around £4 on line, we'll leave it to you to decide whether doing so is worth your time. See all storage reviews.
