Can someone tell us what is going on behind closed doors at SolusOS? Kind of curious as to why the Forum is shut down.

Hey Ikey,if you see this comment again, sorry for the duplicate post.  To kick start QML development for SolusOS, can you write up some very basic example tutorials on writing applets specially for the panel in SolusOS? Some suggestions from me:
Time and Date
Change wallpaper
copy to clipboard
Rename files/folders
Force Quit (xkill?)

Thanks!

Hey,
I really liked the project and would like to contribute code to the project. I am a student of Computer Science and currently in my 5th semester.

Any wiki's or pages to get up to speed? Is there a mailing list where I could  post my questions and probably get some module to get started with.

I have fair idea of Operating System Design and Implementation of Linux Systems. I want to bring what I learnt in my OS class to reality and this would be a good place to start.

Thanks :D

before you kill me i know that i write bad English
but this joke was so good that i must share it with you
I run  SolusOS 2 with XFCE in German Language
I have try to install gparted in SolusOS 2
as i will  run gparted i became a window with the following message

gparted is a weapon of mass destruction for your data  so that only the System Administrator can used it

Look at the Picture it is the original German Message

About this community

Official G+ Community of SolusOS. Note that SolusOS 2 is being actively developed, and we haven't got the time to update random external facing pages right now. So if you have a question, please just ask it, and do not assume! :) SolusOS 2 has been created from scratch (for those seeking to use an absolute literal interpretation of this phrase then please check the About page on solusos.com) with the exact same goals as SolusOS 1. However, while we maintained SolusOS 1 for some time on the Debian Squeeze base, keeping the system stable and up to date became a hard task, with the maintanence growing to a point that made no sense for a *derivative distribution*. At the last count we maintained 7k packages (build count, not source count) on top of the Debian Squeeze base (contrary to popular belief not many packages from Debian Backports got used, and we considered blocking them entirely at one stage). So with such a high workload, and no real results for myself, the founder, I decided to take the from scratch route. The goal here is to bring all the benefits of our previous incarnation, "lightweight", "fast", "multimedia friendly", and couple them with our own mostly vanilla software repository, using a package manager appropriate to the needs of both the users and the developers of the distribution. Use the links below to get yourself to the right part of the SolusOS network.
