Tablets are increasingly a popular tech gadget and Google's Nexus range is the benchmark for other Android devices. Here we've rounded up all the rumoured release date, price and specs information for the Google Nexus 10 2 (2013 edition).

Here we've rounded up the possible, rumoured and speculated release date, price and specs for the upcoming Nexus 10 2. These details should be taken with a pinch of salt but bear in mind that leaked details can often be spot on.

Google Nexus 10 2 (2013): Release date

Back when Google launched the Nexus 7 2013 in July, it was reported that the firm had let slip about a new version of the Nexus 10. Amir Efrati, a reporter for the Wall Street Journal, claimed that Sundar Pichai, president of Android and Chrome told him to expect a new Nexus 10 'in the near future' which would be made by Samsung.

Well a number of months has passed with no sign of the Nexus 10 2013 so perhaps he got the wrong end of the stick, or the tablet got significantly delayed.

At the beginning of September, Google announced that the next version of Android would be called 4.4 KitKat rather than the expected Key Lime Pie. With this announcement came no news of hardware, Nexus 5 or Nexus 10.

It's nearly the end of October, Apple has launched new iPad models include the iPad Air but still no news from Google.

It’s likely that Google will unveil the Nexus 10 2013 alongside the Nexus 5 with both running the new Android 4.4 KitKat OS. There's been no confirmation of a date but rumours and hints from the KitKat Twitter account suggest 28 October.

Android 4.4. KitKatThe first tweet with a dancing Android mascot made of KitKats read "Everybody dance now!" in reference to the song "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)." It was released by a band called C+C Music Factory, originally dubbed as 'The 28 Street Crew'.

A second tweet, a day later, which spelled out "This Is It" in KitKat sticks is thought to be reference to Michael Jackson, the King of Pop's popular movie - which was released on 28 October.

Furthermore, the Nexus 10 was unveiled on 29 October with the Nexus 4 last year so it would be almost exactly a year for Google to unveil the Nexus 5, with the Nexus 10 2013 with it.

If this all turns out to be poppycock then we expect Google to announce the new Nexus smartphone and tablet early in November.

Google Nexus 10 2 (2013): Price

The Nexus 10 2013's price is always going to be debatable until Google reveals the information. However, if a snapshot of PC World's computer system shows the tablet with a price of £349.

That's a little more than the current generation which starts at £319. We're taking that leak with a pinch of salt and so should you.

It does seem fesable that the price of the Nexus 10 2 will go up, though. This year's model of the Nexus 7 went from £159 to £199.

Google Nexus 10 2 (2013): Specs

Samsung made the first Nexus 10 after partnering with Google on the Galaxy Nexus smartphone. It's been tipped for the second version of the tablet, too, but other leaks and rumours suggest that Asus, the maker of both Nexus 7 models, will make the 2013 Nexus 10.

The original Nexus 10 had, and still has, an impressive specs line-up so we're not sure what Google and whoever makes the device can do it. However, the Nexus 10 2013 is expected to use the same 10.1 in screen size retaining the whopping 2560 x 1600 resolution.

Interestingly, the leaked press render of the Asus Nexus 10 (top of the page) shows the tablet in portrait mode rather than landscape which is more traditional for 10 in devices.

Internally it's thought to be powered by an nVidia Tegra 4 chipset and is likely offer 2GB of RAM and up to32GB of internal storage.

Once thing which is almost certain is the Nexus 10 2013 will come pre-loaded with Android 4.4 KitKat. It will be one of the two launch products for the new OS version with the Nexus 5.

We'll let you know if we hear any more on the Nexus 10 2013 before it's officially announced.
