Livescribe has announced that Dropbox cloud storage is available with its Echo smartpen.
The integration allows written notes and synchronised audio to be automatically uploaded to Dropbox as a handy storage and access feature. The firm found that nearly half of its customers use Dropbox so decided to add the service to its Echo smartpen.
Livescribe said: "The cloud may be one of today's IT buzzwords, but handwritten documents and recorded speech are often excluded from it. With the integration of Dropbox and Livescribe even this type of content is cloud-ready."
Dropbox is a popular free cloud storage service which supports PCs, smartphones and tablets. It will soon be facing competition with Google Drive which will go live next week.
Livescribe has put together a tutorial video of how to setup and use the Dropbox integration with an Echo smartpen.
