S2, slow to charge - doesn't recognise AC charge

Hi,

I recently got a samsung galaxy s2 second hand which is exceedingly slow to charge. It actually discharges if its in use whilst plugged in.

I've tried multiple chargers and all produce the same result. On inspection it seems to be that the issue is that it doesnt recognise its charging from an AC adapter and no matter where I charge it with what adapter it says "USB charging"

Would a new mini-usb port perhaps solve this?

Any help would be much appreciated!
