Apple unveiled an all-new Mac Pro at its WWDC 2013 keynote on 10 June. The new Mac Pro has been completely redesigned both internally and externally.

When will the new Mac Pro be available in the UK?

Apple hasn't announced a specific date for the launch of the new Mac Pro in the UK, or even the US. But, it is set to hit the shelves "later this year," the company has promised. This probably means an autumn launch, but, of course, it could still mean anywhere up to 31 December.

How much will the new Mac Pro cost in the UK?

As the unveiling of the new Mac Pro acted as a "sneak peek", Apple hasn't announced any prices for the new Mac Pro either. Estimates range from £2000 to £4000. The current Mac Pro (which is now unavailable in the UK and Europe) sold for £2,049 for the 3.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon-powered standard configuration and £3,099 for the 12-core model with two 2.4GHz Xeon chips.

With the new Mac Pro weighing in at roughly one eighth of the volume of its predesessor with fewer internal components, it could be cheaper than the current model. However, Intel's newest processor, which Apple has used in its new Mac Pro, won't be cheap, and the new Mac Pro uses pricey solid-state storage and two high-end video cards.

We are pretty confident that our dream of a smaller Mac Pro at a smaller price isn’t going to come true. Our initial thinking during the WWDC keynote was that Apple might offer a low-end configuration priced somewhere around $2000 (£1,275 ex VAT) to $2500 (£1,592 ex VAT). But after considering everything that’s inside, as well as the target audience and the computer’s place in Apple’s product line, we think the new Mac Pro will continue to be a premium-priced product. We're guessing that, as with the current Mac Pro, the low-end model will start at around $2500 (£1,592 ex VAT), and the price will quickly ramp into the five-digit range when you max it out.

Based on estimates of comparable hardware, components and labour, IHS iSuppli (via CNET) predicts that it could cost Apple $2,800 (£1,835) just to build the new Mac Pro. That is already $300 more than Apple's asking price for the previous entry-level Mac Pro. Should customers want more SSD storage and RAM, the base figure, before even taking into consideration the additional cost Apple will need to add on in order to make any profit, could be as high as $4,755 (£3115).

Apple will be making the new Mac Pro in the US, which could also add to the cost of labour.

What is wrong with this site and article headings. Why have a heading about news only to say that the details the heading refers to are none existent.

"Apple to make there own brand of cider"
We have no actual information on Apple making cider nor are there any rumours, but watch this space, if Apple do decide to shake things up and make cider, you can be sure you will read it here second.

There you go I just wrote a news article for you....

Looks like my umbrella holder! In another hand, why not to put an ashtray plate on the top! What a crap 60's design! I am sure In a few years will became a collector item but for now, I can only think this shape will make impossible to do any hardware update in the future.... Apple destroyed iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Logic can't compare with Cubase, iCloud is pour and the OS is becaming like Windows! Sorry, but I am very disappointed! Apple please forget the design and centre you changes on the old Apple creativity and intelligence! Please bring back the excellence!

OK - so who will be the first to offer a companion unit to take all our SSDs, disc and DVD drives from our Mac Pros?

What a pointless waste of time this article is…

Title - "New Mac Pro release date, UK pricing"
Subheading - "When will Apple's new Mac Pro be released?"

The actual article content - We haven't got an 'effing clue on price or release date, here are some guesses we made up…

Wouldn't it be appropriate to tell the truth:
Non lying title - "New Mac Pro release date unknown, pricing remains unannounced"
Subheading - "Idle speculation on UK Mac Pro release?"

This is little more than rickrolling link bait.

Stay classy Macworld.co.uk, time to delete you from my feeds.

Absolutely agree that this, like many other previous MW 'news' reports are a complete waste of time and worst still, dishonest. It's pathetic.

I'll be unsubscribing from the mailing list if this practice doesn't change very soon.

Was already on the verge of doing this due to being swamped with too many MW emails with very little useful content and too much pointless inaccurate speculation. One email a week I'm sure would be more than adequate, minus the waffle, repetition and dishonest baiting headlines please!

Sort it out now MW!

LOL This is taking the berties now, my comment from the previous article about how the heading was totaly missleading, has rolled over to this article, presumably becuase all the Mac Pro news is collected under one thread and updated. So this update is again just made up. Ok there has been some research into some factual elements but there is no actual official facts. QUE sarcastic comparison.
"Aliens Land On Earth"
Since aliens haven't made there self known to us yet we can only speculate and use films such as Independance day to give us some idea of what such a scenario might be like and how it would unfold...
