Nokia Lumia 525. Why is no one talking about this phone? After all it is the successor to the highest selling Lumia phone of all time, the 520. What upgrades will 525 get over the 520?

You must be trolling. If not your comments are mind bogglingly stupid. There is no fucking 1" or S" screen you moron. Starting with the first Nexus 7 and then the Nexus 4 they standardized the naming around screen size. If the number stood for generation what the fuck will they call the 7th gen Nexus phone in 2015? A Nexus 7? See now that name is already taken. Jesus H Christ, how fucking stupid can you really be?

But I swear I haven’t seen any emails in Gmail for a loooong time now. When something changes, you immediately notice it, since your eyes are drawn towards it. The ads weren’t there in the recent past. I can assure you.

Here are my ad settings. As you can see, I have opted out of interest based ads. Not sure why I am still seeing ads in the emails.

Let me clarify. The ads that I see are not in my inbox, but in the individual emails. I see the ads when I am inside an email. I hate it. I want to make it go away.

Can dataless smartphones still use GPS navigation apps?
You should also post this question at the MacRumors forums. You might get better answers there.

The first time I heard the term being mentioned in a smart phone context is during BlackBerry’s latest SEC filing of their Q2 results.
“With the recent launch of the BlackBerry Z30, the Company plans to re-tier the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone to make it available to a broader, entry-level audience. Going forward, the Company plans to refocus its product and services offerings on its end-to-end solution of hardware, software and services for enterprises and prosumers.”

I am beginning to think BB invented the ‘prosumer’ smart phone term.

That power button looks gaudy and sticks out like a sore thumb. Edgy design decisions like this will never truly stand the test of time. So no, this design is not timeless at all. Today it is classy, no doubt about that, but a few years from now people will be wondering, what the hell is that pimple on the side of the phone?

Yeah, I think the common problem I have with iOS7 and Office 2013 and any similar “modern” aimed UI is too much whitespace. I think in the desire to get over skeuomorphism they threw a lot of good out with the bad. Felt and leather? Sure, get rid of that. But when the buttons have no indications they /are/ buttons, they just appear as a word and nothing else, that takes my brain a bit of extra processing to figure out. There should be something there to anchor it as a button, to remind your dumb brain that it is, indeed, a pressable icon. A good UI is supposed to subtly guide your eye around what is important, these new overly minimalistic UIs sometimes miss the boat on that.
