PC gamers can almost rejoice as there is word that Rockstar Games will release GTA 5 on PC as soon as early next year.

GTA 5 has been the biggest game launch of all time with record sales despite only launching on Xbox 360 and PS3 – therefore leaving out hoards of PC gamers which have been playing the series since the beginning.

Earlier this year, Rockstar said: "We don't have anything to share about the possibility of a next-gen or a PC platform release at this time and we are completely focused on delivering the best possible experience for the consoles people have right now."

However, multiple sources have told Eurogamer that GTA 5 for PC will be released in the first quarter of 2014.

It looks likes it be a similar situation as GTA 4 which was released on Xbox 360 and PS3 months before the PC version arrived.

It's great news for the 60,000 people who have signed an online petition pleading Rockstar to remember its non-console players.
