The official blog of the plastic model maker Aoshima announced on Monday that the studio AIC is adapting Aoshima's super robot Atoranjaa into an anime short. G-mode will sell the 15-minute project on DVD at the commercial area of Comic Market 81 at the Tokyo Big Sight Center next month. The 4,000-yen (about US$51) DVD will come in a plastic model-style package with a promotional video, a promotional video for the Justeen anime, and 10 bonus menko game cards.
Singer Akira Kushida (Kinnikuman, Toriko, various Super Sentai series) and composer Michiaki Watanabe (Mazinger Z , Great Mazinger, Getter Robo Go) are responsible for the theme song.
Aoshima originally created Atoranjaa in 1975 as a plastic model of a super robot without an anime. It does have a Gattai Robot Atoranjaa Tiger Shark manga, and it notably made a cameo in last year's Oreimo anime series.
