The January issue of Media Factory's book and manga news magazine Da Vinci revealed its 13th annual "Book of the Year" list on Thursday. The rankings are not based solely on sales. Instead, a group of 4,625 voters including professional book reviewers, bookstore employees, and Da Vinci readers selected this year's lists.

  2. One Piece (Volumes 1-68) - Eiichiro Oda
  3. Space Brothers (Volumes 1-19) - Chūya Koyama
  4. March comes in like a lion (Volumes 1-7) - Chika Umino
  5. Detective Conan (Volumes 1-77) - Gosho Aoyama

Female-Oriented Comics

Novelist Hiro Arikawa's (Library War/Toshokan Sensō) Soratobu Kōhōshitsu and Sanbiki no Ossan Futatabi novels ranked at #1 and #2 on this year's novel list.
