First Soundwave 2013 Set Times & Timetables Released, Brace For Clashes!

With just weeks to go, the first of the Soundwave 2013 timetables have finally been released for what has been one of the most anticipated festivals of the season.

The popular metal and hardcore music festival has released the timetables for Brisbane and Sydney, following a leak of the set times for Stage 3 by some of the bands earlier in the evening on Instagram.

So are there clashes? Of course, with a lineup that big and comprehensive it was always going to be impossible to avoid them. There are however a few big ones.

If you were planning on catching Blink-182, the Offspring, and Metallica, then it’s probably time you started changing your plans. Metallica’s set covers both Blink-182′s and the Offspring, in what is sure to be a big disappointment for those who grew up in the 90s.

The set times also revealed that the festival plan on having a “surprise guest” perform early in the day on each date. Who exactly that mystery act could be is anyones guess, but a likely guess could be Puscifer, the other band from Tool and A Perfect Circle frontman Maynard James Keenan, as their Australian tour coincides with Soundwave.

Rumour has it that the Melbourne set times will be released sometime this weekend, with Perth and Adelaide to follow some time after.

In other Soundwave news, missed out on tickets to Soundwave in Sydney? You may be in luck.

Due to the new age restrictions imposed by the Sydney Showgrounds on Soundwave Festival, around 700 tickets will be released for general sale to the previously sold out festival following a flood of refunds.

The tickets will be made available on Thursday for sale, and were originally the tickets of fans under the age of 15 hoping to catch their first glimpse of the some of the world’s biggest hardcore and metal bands including Metallica, Linkin Park, Blink 182.

Also, following deathcore band Dr Acula pulling out of the hard and heavy touring festival citing their imminent break up, another band have pulled out of the Soundwave 2013 bill just weeks from the event, but there’ll be no love lost for the dismissal of electro-punk duo Blood On The Dance Floor from AJ Maddah who is “super pleased” to be rid of the group.

In another hilarious flurry of tweets, the outspoken Soundwave boss revealed he had only booked the band on the bill because he was drunk, before turning on fans of the band themselves who he described in a less than favourable fashion.
