GS News Top 5 - Foliage physics, equality for ALL games + GTA on PC in 2014?

GTA may well be heading for PC in 2014, Assassin’s Creed: IV is ready to dazzle you with foliage physics, David Cage wants YOU to give Beyond a chance and naming Pokémon is hard. Like, really hard. Apparently.
My favourite game that is always accused of being a non-game is, without a shadow of doubt, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. To people who say it nothing but cutscenes, I call shenanigans! If you just speed run from checkpoint to checkpoint, or shoot your way through every level, the cinematics outweigh the gameplay- but if you take your time and figure out how to properly use the extremely sophisticated stealth mechanics, the game takes a lot longer and is far more satisfying. Also the story has everything long term Metal Gear fans (up to that point) could have asked for, no narrative stone is left unturned.
To name new Pokemon, switch to a language with a different root, then transliterate back to Japanese, then translate it to English. What could go wrong?

And the moving foliage is exclusive to the next gen consoles? I assume they only mean in terms of the xbox 360 and ps3 not having it... because for the PC version to not have it would be laughable.

I made a comment a while back that MS needs to do something about their marketing folks. At this point I'm thinking locking ball gags and letting 10 year olds write the ad copy and conduct the interviews. They'd do a much better job.
I'm still cracking up at the thought of how stressful naming Pokémon must be... not... I was going to play the world's smallest violin but even it was laughing too hard.
GTAV-PC -> would be nice, have better things to hold my breath for...
And, moving foliage? Am I just having some form of bad flashback but didn't Crysis (the first one) ALSO have moving foliage? A bizillion years ago at this point? Oh well, I'm old, it could just be dementia I suppose... What was I talking about?
Awww PC gamers. Are you upset that a game that can clearly run on your platform isn't available for no real good reason other than they just don't want to? Well guess what, this is how Nintendo fans feel all the time and we suck it up and move on. Want a sandbox crime game for the PC? Go play Saint's Row IV. It's the same damn thing and it lets you play as a girl.
Awww David Cage is sad yet I've heard him say things that things along the lines of some games being "beneath" him. Maybe if your head wasn't up your own ass so much David, I'd play one of your interactive DVDs. Honestly if Tim Shaffer made a game like Heavy Rain, I'd buy it because then it wouldn't feel so pretentious and have decent writing.
Next gen plant physics. Put that up there with arm hair and swimming fish!
@at129907 There's only 68 new Pokemon, including the starters and their forms, legendaries, and new forms of old Pokemon. Overall, there's only around 55 "new" pokemon. X and Y mix in a lot of old Pokemon with old ones early on. Chances are, next gen won't have any new Pokemon at all.
@dramaybaz The PC version of the game is an exact copy of the next-gen version (with customizable graphics and kb+m support). So of course it will have the plant physics... Though nothing can save this game, it simply isn't an AC game anymore. It's a frigging pirate game FFS!
@dramaybaz I play both PC and consoles. I am getting a bit annoyed at how the PC gets second rate service so much of the time. I mean most big titles that come out PC gamers have to cross their fingers that they're not going to get a poorly optimised port, have to wait longer for games in a lot of instances and now devs are going to start deliberately withholding features the platform is more than capable of implementing. Probably the worst case I can think of is the FIFA series.
@dramaybaz i doubt they would just turn off the physics for a pc release; that would be epic levels of lame. even if they did someone would figure out how to enable it with a simple mod, i'd imagine.
@kbaily Yea, because Rockstar is run by ten years old kids. They don't take important business actions just because they don't feel like it. And no, Saint's Row is not the same as GTA.
