duh I think Ubi are trying to show us humble folks the fictional universe of Assassin's&Templar;'s througout mankind's history. From my point of view, they are doing it pretty well. It started with Altaïr and the 3rd Crusade, two stories featuring Ezio roaming through Italy during the Renaissance, a third one set in Constantinople during his later years. The fifth story is set during the American Revolutionary War, featuring the story of a young boy named Rattata who is out for Revenge against the Templar's.

And now Ubisoft is bringing us Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag and EVERYONE LOSES THEIR MINDS.. seriously WTF!? It's going to be the best AC thus far, with yer ship and crew, large scale naval battles, underwater exploration for the 1st! time, improved hunting and collecting, more side missions, improved gameplay.. atleast shooting yer pistol like a true Cap'n now , the world is frikin huge too I hear and the assassination-stealthy elements ain't coming short... so why is everyone whinning their eyeballs out? Want your open-worldishish 10hrs Prince of Persia back? Well I want to take my time exploring the islands, secrets, underwater world, and hunt every frikin animal so i can craft me some baboon pants.  Ubisoft is moving on, just like the majority of us. They did great in the past, and every next sequel is more or less an improvement over the last ones. In this case its obviously a large improvement, we'll know more in 20 days. Greetings

I would like Assassins Creed a lot more if there was less of them. We should be seeing the 3rd game by now not the 6th. As long as the series comes out every year it will stagnate and never progress in interesting ways. I still remember my pure surprise when playing the first game that you were in fact playing memories and were actually in the modern day, secrets like that being held until the games release just don't happen anymore and it was so refreshing. Also the literal goosebumps when seeing the room Desmond was in via Eagle Vision right at the end of the game. Fantastic!
The story had a point, it was going somewhere. We already know that it was originally planned as a trilogy and therefore must have had a set structure of beginning, middle and end. Which has since been abandoned because there is no way anyone could try anything ambitious with a game like this in the time frame of a year. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the games, they are decent enough. However we have been essentially robbed by Ubisoft of what could have been one of the most interesting trilogies of the past 20 years because of quantity over quality.

(note: I understand that it is business and Ubisoft made the correct decision in going annually as far as that is concerned. At least in the short term.)

PS. Sorry for the little long and maybe slightly ranty post, but everytime I see Assassins Creed it just bugs me because it is a series that I should really love and I can't. I own games 1 - Rev and have only played until 2!)

Will there be investigations like in AC1? Or is it all mission/cutscene/story-based or you automatically get the info from a pigeon-coop (side-assassinations)

Will combat still be piss easy? Or will there be elites/captains that can kick your ass if you're not careful.

Mother of all Q&A;'s : Why did you make ACIV: Black Flag?

The story is very interesting and the open world has improved a lot with improvements of the weather system and the addition of hunting

I don't understand y so many ppl don't like AC 3 besides a horrible main character.

Hope its like the first AC the story just pulled you in and made you a part of the game. they since murdered the feeling with ACII.... which I played but hated sadly and ACIII was fun but making money was a pain in the behind.

A open world pirate game will be most very welcome, no matter if its assassins creed related or not. So im hoping for the best!

In my memory AC3 just came out and now we're already dealing with AC4? Also, AC3 was going to be the most awesome fantastic AC ever and most hated it. So what's this going to be? Another 60% of our budget was marketing?

I really hope this AC lives up to some of it's predecessor's. AC3 was a huge disappointment, and it has nullified any hype i may have felt about this game.

With Desmond dead and gone, perhaps we can now start seeing some interesting characters and storylines come into this. So there's a silver lining, i guess...

The game looks good and the pirate theme is for a fresh take on the series. But it doesn't give the feeling of mystery  that the past AC games had. Like AC Brotherhood. Where ezio was exploring tombs and whatnot, I will also miss Assassin recruitment which was fun in the past games and actually made so much sense as assassin recruitment was to give strength to the weak to act against the oppressor. Plus assassin is meant to be like ninja silent and deadly. which i cant see in this one. nevertheless the world looks pretty big and will be fun exploring.

Every year: "AC is milking everyone it's the same game."

AC tries a different environment: "Pirates are too much. This is too far fetched"

????????

Ashraf?, an Arabian as a director for this game?...nice to see some different faces for a change.

Why couldn't you just make this AC game set in the Arabian world instead of...pirates, ugh.

Maybe when Altair was in Egypt?

A pirate sim that's all i can see.

I miss Assassin's creed...

AC4 will be the best game in the history of mankind, humanity would not see a game with such superiority for over a decade

I think the problem here is the fact that they are paying IGN to make some ads. Not Gamespot kkkk

I don't know, when I hear them talking of next gen, I wan't to hear 1080p resolution, and constant 60 fps as opposed to 'physics around foliage' , and 'wind movement'. I wan't to hear things like 'no loading screens', or like 'absolutely no texture popups', 'maximum field of views' - to prevent distant objects from appearing as you move, etc

Go to hell with your pointless milking "argument", fools, it's really annoying......

It's boring, insulting and offensive and it makes no sense at all. If you don't like AC (anymore), just stop playing it. But don't pretend to be smarter than others who still enjoy AC games......

AC turned into another annual milking franchise... oh well :(

@ALLoY1717 Why not just play them every 3 years then? Why do you have to get every single one that comes out?

I didn't play Brotherhood or Revelations. I went from 2-3 and got the same experience as a 3 year release period wait..

@Leivve

AC has always had this problem, and it's a great big HUUUUUUUGE problem. It's such a major issue simply because the ease of the combat renders most of the other mechanics in the game completely obsolete.

Why bother trying to use that awful homestead in AC to get money/resources to get better weapons, when you can easily go through the entire game with the default weapons and have absolutely no problems whatsoever? (which i did, partly because i didn't actually know you could get new weapons, and mostly because i didn't care or need to)
Or alternatively, why both sneaking into that fort to kill that captain silently, when you cna run in, stab him, and generally get out completely fine?

It's a staple of bad design, if one feature of your game renders the others obsolete and pointless. And unfortunately, i feel Ubisoft has this awful continuity where it continues to make awful design choices.

@Araiz222111 I got my joy out of the game exploring, finding everything on my own without maps and watching the details of the world. But the core mechanics of the game sucked. Useless parkour, boring combat, the game constantly taking the control of the character from you, horrible Desmond missions, useless weapons and useless hunting tools (it was always easier and cleaner just using the hidden blades), tons of bugs and poor perfomance on PC even with the most powerfull machines.

Slade968
Slade968

@Araiz222111

Tedious QTE filled combat with no depth that offered no challenge, recycled mechanics that made all the missions feel like running from point A to B, 10 hours of gameplay before the game actually got moving and like you said, a horrible main character.

The one redeeming feature was the naval combat which was a lot of fun.

If someone was coming to the series fresh, I can see how they would have enjoyed it. But having played them all, I didn't even finish. I think I got about 20 hours in and called it day.

Shame because I really enjoyed the Ezio trilogy. I even liked Desmond's back story but at this point it's become so hackneyed and convoluted that I've lost interest.
