Devil Survivor 2 Anime Previewed in TV Ad

posted on 2013-02-15 18:30 EST
Seiji Kishi (Persona 4) & Bridge's anime adaptation of Atlus RPG premieres in April

A commercial for Seiji Kishi's Devil Survivor 2 anime series began airing with some brief new footage in Japan early Saturday morning. The anime will adapt Atlus' Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Nintendo DS role-playing game about 13 Devil Messengers who face the end of the world by mysterious invaders in seven days.

Kishi (Persona 4 The Animation) is directing the series, and Yoshimichi Hirai is the assistant director at the studio Bridge. Makoto Uezu is in charge of the series scripts, and Kotaro Nakagawa is scoring the music. Promotional flyers and a promotional video revealed the series' cast last week:

Atlus USA released the original Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Nintendo DS game in June 2009 in North America, and then released the enhanced port titled Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked in August 2011. Atlus released the Devil Survivor 2 video game in Japan in July 2011, and then Atlus USA released the game in North America last February. Suzuhito Yasuda (Durarara!!, Yozakura Quartet) drew the main character designs for all three games.

The anime will premiere this April on the "Animeism" programming block on the MBS station and other affiliates. The production company Pony Canyon began streaming the first full promotional video in December. The anime already inspired a manga that launched in Square Enix's Monthly G Fantasy magazine on December 18.
