News Attack on Titan Manga Inspires Comedy Spinoff Manga

The school comedy story is set in a junior high school and centers on the original manga's characters such as Eren and Mikasa as they battle with Titans. The spinoff incorporates gags while using Attack on Titan's story and notable scenes as its basis.
The original manga depicts the battles between humans and the man-eating giants who now rule the world. Isayama launched Attack on Titan in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in 2009. The manga has become a sleeper hit, selling over 5.5 million copies since 2010. The series' seventh compiled book volume shipped in Japan on Monday.
Kodansha USA licensed the manga for North America, and Kodansha confirmed this year that a film adaptation will open in Japan in fall of 2013 or later. Masks bearing the likeness of the Isayama's man-eating giant characters will go on sale in Japan this May.
