Mai Kadowaki: anime has been green-lit for game's supporting character

Voice actress Mai Kadowaki (far left in photograph) reported in a Sunday blog entry that production on an anime has been green-lit for the Amagami game's supporting character Risa Kamizaki. An Amagami SS television anime series has been running in Japan since July 1, but it is currently slated to feature the game's six main characters only. Enterbrain released the original Amagami romance simulation game for the Sony PlayStation 2 console.

24 episodes are slated for the franchise's six main heroines, and the anime's first 12 Blu-ray Disc/DVD volumes will include these episodes at two episodes per volume. There have already been two bonus DVDs announced for buyers of the Blu-ray/DVD volumes, and those will focus on the six main heroines just as the 24 announced television episodes are doing. However, the distributor Pony Canyon had also scheduled a 13th Blu-ray/DVD volume for April 20, 2011, and had not announced its contents.

The main part of Kadowaki's blog entry focused on the Amagami SS monthly event that was held on Sunday for the Kaoru Tanamachi character (voiced by Rina Satou, center left). Tanamachi's four-episode story arc just ended on Thursday. Also appearing at the event were the opening theme song's singer Azusa (center right) and Tomoaki Maeno (far right), the voice actor for the anime's male male lead Jun'ichi Tachibana.
