Level5, Ghibli on Ni no Kuni: The Another World Game

posted on 2008-09-25 10:04 EDT

Enterbrain's Famitsu game news magazine reports that the game developer Level5 (Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King, Rogue Galaxy, Professor Layton and the Curious Village) and the anime world's Studio Ghibli (Nausicaä of the Valley of Wind, Only Yesterday, Spirited Away) are working together on a Nintendo DS role-playing game called Ni no Kuni: The Another World for release next year in Japan. Ghibli is producing the in-game animation footage. The game's unique feature is the physical Magic Master book that will come bundled with it. Within the story, a 13-year-old boy is transported to another world with the Magic Master book; the player references the physical copy of the book to learns magical spells while playing the game. Level5 is marking its 10th anniversary with the game and will also release it on an unspecified home console platform with different content.
