We make poke fun with our comic below, but smartphones have become such a part of our life that most would feel lost without them. Globally, 5.9 billion people have mobile subscriptions, which equates to 87% of the world's population. In the U.S. alone, at the end of 2011, over 100 million people owned smartphones! Tablet use has exploded, and more people are using the mobile web now than mobile apps. This means businesses must adapt! Here's comScore's video (from Feb 2012) that outlines some important metrics.

Because of this mobile revolution, responsive web design is a rapidly growing trend. A responsive website lets you create one adaptive design that addresses all of your potential viewing market: mobile, PC, and tablet.

Don't get caught in the robot apocolypse without a mobile friendly website -- it could spell doom for your business.
