One Piece Exhibit Ads Teases New Section, Oda's Sketching

Exhibition's Osaka run to add new section, retain entire video of Oda drawing

One Piece Exhibition, the art exhibit that attracted over 510,000 attendees in Tokyo from March to June, is moving to Osaka later this year, and two commercials are promoting the move. The exhibition showcases the original illustrations and manga art that Eiichiro Oda created over the 15-year history of the manga.

The first ad, "New Exhibit," advertises the November 24-February 17 run and teases the new section that the Osaka version is adding, on top of the sections that the Tokyo version had. Much of the exhibition is devoted to life-size recreations of the famous manga scenes, some with life-size statues of the Straw Hat Pirates and video special effects.

The second ad, "Drawing," previews the exhibition's video of Oda sketching a drawing. The exhibition in Tokyo and Osaka shows the entire video of Oda sketching the manga's Luffy and Chopper characters from initial lines to coloring. The exhibition also shows the final sketch itself.
