Shikabane Hime DVD Released Monday

Also the second volume of Vampire Knight Guilty.

The supernatural/action series Shikabane Hime, animated by the Gainax studio, debuts on UK DVD this Monday. Released by Manga Entertainment, the two-disc set contains the first 13-part serial, called "Aka," and it retails at £14.99.

Set in present-day Tokyo, the series involves Ouri, a foundling boy. Ouri encounters Makina, a gun-toting undead girl who exists to fight other tormented undead. Ouri's Buddhist monk guardian and 'brother,' Keisei, is voiced by the prolific actor Keiji Fujiwara, whose other roles include Holland in Eureka 7 and Maes Hughes in both TV versions of Fullmetal Alchemist.

According to the BBFC website, the DVD is rated 12 for 'moderate violence, gore and sex references.'

Monday also sees the release of the second disc of Vampire Knight Guilty (the continuation of Vampire Knight). It features episodes 5 to 7 of the series. Volume 3 (episodes 8 to 10) is scheduled for June 27.
