New Aniplex-Backed Studio to Hold Panel at Anime Expo

Aniplex, the anime-focused subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment Japan, has announced that its newly-founded A-1 Pictures studio will hold a panel at Anime Expo 2007. The panelists will include A-1 Pictures CEO and President Hideo Katsumata (executive producer of Fullmetal Alchemist, Rurouni Kenshin), Senior Vice President Tomonori Ochikoshi (producer of R.O.D -The TV-, Blood+) and CG specialist Takaharu Ozaki (Metropolis, Texhnolyze). A-1 Pictures opened its studio in 2006, and its credits include Ookiku Furikabutte, Robby & Kerobby, Zenmai Zamurai and Namisuke. It is currently working on three series and one feature film. Anime Expo will be held at the Long Beach Convention Center in California from June 29 to July 2.
