Speaking at a roundtable during Tokyo Game Show, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan executive Masayasu Ito indicated this was one of the features the new PlayStation Eye could adopt through system updates.

"But it could go deeper," Ito said,as quoted by reported on by Eurogamer, though not elaborating on what "deeper" feature expansions might entail.

Sony previously confirmed PS4's PS Eye camera will support "navigational voice commands" and "facial recognition", and promised to share more details in the lead up to the launch of PlayStation 4 on November 29.

Speaking to assorted press this week at the Tokyo Game Show, Sony executives have also outlined cloud gaming plans, stating that a large number of PS3 games will be available to play on PS4 via the cloud gaming network Gaikai in the future.

Sony also confirmed it has opted to drop High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection restrictions on the PS4. Players will now be allowed to capture gameplay directly through HDMI.
