Apple has done pretty much what the whole world expected it to do and has upgraded its flagship smartphone the iPhone 5 to the iPhone 5S. At a dedicated press event held in Cupertino, California, Apple CEO Tim Cook and his buddies introduced the world to the impressive looking iPhone 5S. The most notable features of the iPhone 5S are the A7 processor with 64-bit architecture, a brand new M7 motion coprocessor, iTouch security fingerprint scanner, and of course the new iOS 7 operating system. iPhone 5S release date in the UK
After months of speculation we can finally confirm that Apple has set the iPhone 5S’s release date in the UK for Friday, 20th September. The iPhone 5S will be available to buy from the Apple Online Store, Apple’s retail stores, select carriers and select Apple Authorised Resellers. iPhone 5S features
Touch ID
Touch ID is the iPhone 5S's brand new fingerprint sensor that is located in the smartphone’s home button. “Touch ID uses a laser cut sapphire crystal, together with the capacitive touch sensor, to take a high-resolution image of your fingerprint and intelligently analyze it to provide accurate readings from any angle”
A7 chip
The new Apple A7 chip is will run on 64-bit architecture and is said to deliver up to twice the CPU and graphics performance of its predecessor, all while being kinder on the iPhone’s battery.
M7 motion coprocessor
“Every iPhone 5s includes the new M7 motion coprocessor that gathers data from the accelerometer, gyroscope and compass to offload work from the A7 for improved power efficiency. Developers can also access new CoreMotion APIs that take advantage of M7, so they can create even better fitness and activity apps that go well beyond what other mobile devices offer. The M7 motion coprocessor continuously measures your motion data, even when the device is asleep, and saves battery life for pedometer or other fitness apps that use the accelerometer all day.”
iPhone 5S camera
The 8MP iSight camera in the iPhone 5S has undergone some serious improvements. It now features f/2.2 aperture, a larger 1.5μ pixels and comes with the world’s first True Tone camera, Apple has this to say “[True Tone] variably adjusts color and intensity for over 1,000 combinations, so photos taken with a flash appear more natural”. The new iSight Camera also feature a new burst mode and Slo-mo video capture at 120fps.

iPhone 5S colours
Apple has made the iPhone available in three different metallic finishes, these are: gold, silver and Space Grey. Apple has also launched a brand new leather case for the iPhone 5S, these cases are available in beige, black, blue, brown, yellow and (RED)—with soft, colour-matched microfiber lining.
