lol @William I hope you feel better after your rant :):)

It seems strange he would change the players that were so successful as U-17s!

TURN RANT ON

The best all-around women's team from South Korea ever (I'm referring to last year's U17 team) and the coach decides to go with different players and a different style of play for the U19 and blows it.  If you have a winning formula and team why do something so stupid as that.  The team consisted of 8 FWs, 4 MFs, 8 DWs. The Koreans won the U17 because of the long ball ability of their mid-fielders.

I hope that this coach did not do this because they embarrassed the mens' teams by winning a FIFA cup before they did and was pressured into losing.  If this is the case, then he needs to be fired and banned from coaching another team...ever.

TURN RANT OFF

Korea Republic is missing what I consider to be two key players:

  1. Kim Da-Hye (Good complimentary striker for Yeo Min Ji).
  2. Lee So-Dam (Midfielder who tied score in U17 final last year)

Hopefully, the goal keeper has improved a lot as I did not think she did that well during the U17 tournament last year.

The roster only includes 4 midfielders.  I wonder what type of line-up they plan to employ?

Japan won the tournament with Korea Republic finishing 2nd and Korea DPR finished 3rd.  Australia did not make it out of the group stage.  Anyone of the six teams in the current tournament is capable of winning.

Will Australia/korea win it again?
Comment by William on March 12, 2011 at 22:48
They may be on Fromsport or KBS (particularly Korean games).
