Before MC Zone

Long before MC Zone was created, during the summer of 2012, I started my own Minecraft server. It was called Terrascape and had a grand total of 5 dedicated users! After openning it to the public I changed Terrascape from a creative server to a survival PVE server. Eventually it became a faction pvp server after Minecraft was officially released in November of 2011. Popularity went up and down, usually reaching no more than 40 players online at once. As I became busy with other projects and work, Terrascape declined to 0 players during the summer of 2012. It was shutdown in August. It was around that time that I started to think about new server ideas. The idea for MC Zone came along in October...

MC Zone Arrives

Just like any Minecraft server, MC Zone started out as a small community. With a maximum player count of 20 players, we hosted one Hunger Games server for friends to play on and enjoy. And again, like most Minecraft servers do, we posted the server on Planet Minecraft to gain popularity. We started to max out the player count when we added a variety of new kits and eventually purchased a virtual private server to host 4 HG servers on. We started to track game statistics within a week of the server expansion. With this new addition, our player count started to max out once again. More servers were added and players were satisfied.

Hypixel released the minigame called "The Walls", and we immediately began developing a server that would run the game automatically and recorded game statistics. We released MC Zone's The Walls, the first server to host the walls on an automatic basis without interruptions. Users poured into MC Zone as we added more and more servers. We reached 500 concurrent players within 2 months of starting MC Zone, and 1000 players within 2 1/2 months of starting it.

Months after MC Zone's creation, minigames such as Sky Wars, Survival Games, and Nexus were added. We now host seven minigames with a total capacity of more than 3000 players. What's next? We always have things planned for the future, but you can contribute to new ideas on the forums.
